Newborn bluebird nestlings have been described as looking like “hairy shrimp.” Their skin is pink. Their necks are very floppy, but they are able to pick their bulbous heads up to gape for food.

You cannot begin to preserve any species of animal unless you preserve the habitat in which it dwells. Disturb or destroy that habitat and you will exterminate the species as surely as if you had shot it.
