NOTES:

Trapped about a dozen starlings this winter. No HOSP heard until first week of March. Bluebirds checking out boxes last week in Feb - female went inside two of them out in front. House finches checking out PUMA house first week in March.
Thought a HOSP was roosting in nestcam box by tree, as I saw white poop. Went out at night and spooked a TUTI. It didn't come back (or at least there is no new poop in box)
3/15: caught a starling in the PUMA nestbox trap.
03/16: first sunny day in a while - female HOSP checking out nestcam box by tree, starlings checking out GCFL box, heard a bluebird in Dirk's field with an unusual trill preceding warble, several chattering Carolina Wrens flew out of back of barn. Set up DRST, caught first male within minutes of it landing on top of trap. 2010 Total: 1 M.
3/17: pair of HOSP seen by trap. Bright male bluebird (no partner) seen going into Gilwood in back.Hoardsd of grackles and cowbirds. In the evening, Doug and I checked about 20 boxes in Dirk's fields and our yard - one nest start in flying nun. A male blue followed us from Tivnan's to the back of Dirk's field, snooping. Heard multiple birds singing.
3/18: Caught F and then M HOSP: 2M, 1F. Sharon got her first TRES in Eastford today. Male HOSP pestering HOFI couple building in PUMA condo. Inadvertently caught a TUTI in PUMA trap box.
3/19: caught 1 M, lost a F from DRST. 3M, 1 F.
3/20: starling caught in PUMA trap box.
3/27: just got back. Pair of titmice checking out Gilwood in back yard, one slept in box by tree last night. Doug knocked over HOFI house...not sure they didn't leave. Nest in flying nun must have been HOSP - no additional work since caught pair. 4M, 2F
3/30: cold and flooding - saw a very wet titmouse check out GCFL box - making a whistling tseet tseet noise. PUMA house knocked over, HOFI's surely gone.
03/31: rain finally stopped. Saw pair of bluebirds checking out GCFL box, male stuck his head in but did not enter.
4/1: starling in PUMA trap.
4/7: HOSP keep coming, mostly males. 6M, 3F. Not much activity elsewhere other than noisy TRES. Last Friday saw a Titmouse picking up nesting material. At 8:53 saw a pair of titmice checking out GCFL on chimney, both went inside. Then one came up to the window and looked right at me and Mr.T. Starling in PUMA box. Have caught about 20 since late fall.
04/10: F HOSP with female in trap
04/11: F HOSP with female in trap. 6M, 5F.
04/16: BCCH came into nestcam box, did cupping motion at 10:56. Trapped one EUST in PUMA box.
04/17: 1 M, for 7M, 5F.
04/27: Got an email yesterday from someone in Danbury who lost a bluebird nest to HOWR. Heard my first one in the backyard today.
05/2: trapped 4M, 4F in Eastford.
05/3: trapped 1M in DRST in yard. Eastford: 8, Trail, 8M, 5F.
5/17: trapped 1 M, 9M, 5F. (Also caught 14 HOSP total in Eastford)
5/25- 1M yesterday, 1today. 11M, 5F
5/30: heard HOSP at Hogans. Caught M, 12M, 5F
6/1: two males caught at Jenns. 14M, 5F.
6/7: caught F, saw male, 14M, 6F
